Turkey's average life expectancy stands at 73.7 years

ANKARA (A.A) - 14.02.2011 - Average life expectancy in Turkey went up to 73.7 years from 70.9 years in the period between 2003 and 2009, data showed.
According to social indicators compiled by Turkey's statistics authority, the TurkStat, life expectancy for women rose to 76.1 years from 73.4 years while it was up to stand at 71.5 years from 68.6 for men.
Infant mortality in the country decreased to 20.5 per thousand in 2009 from 25.6 per thousand in 2003, TurkStat said.
Figures showed that electricity consumption per capita in Turkey between 2003 and 2009 rose to 2162 kWh from 1581 kWh.
