POL: Pakistan's Senators condemn Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir

Islamabad, Aug 16 PPI: Pakistan's Senate Foreign Relations & Human Rights Committees on Friday strongly condemned Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir and expressed complete solidarity with All Parties Hurriyat Conference APHC and Kashmiri people.

A joint meeting of both committees chaired by Chairman of Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Mushahid Hussain Sayed and attended by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Human Rights Minister Farooq Naik in a unanimous resolution expressed deep grief over martyrdom of Kashmiri leader Shaikh Abdul Aziz and called for "immediate steps to stop state terrorism and prevent human rights violations inIndian occupied Kashmir.

It urged international community, particularly UnitedNations to help end use of "brutal force against civilians" in occupied Kashmir.

Later, a Senators delegation led by Mushahid Hussain conveyed resolution in to UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon to official of UN Military Observer Group inIslamabad.

A joint delegation of Pakistan Senate Foreign Relations Committee & Human Rights Committee, led by Mushahid Hussain would visit New York at earliest to personally meet with Dr. Afia Siddiqui, now under United States detention to enquire her welfare. It will also visit U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay to meet remaining seven Pakistani prisoners detained there to see whether they are treatedaccording to universally accepted international standards of civilized conduct.

Mushahid Hussain said issues like Kashmir and other human rights violations wereabove party politics and entire Pakistan population spoke with one voice on these.

He lauded government particularly Foreign Ministry for raising voice against Indianatrocities and taking up issue with UN and Organization of Islamic Conference.
