Yemen, Turkey review steps to carry out mutual industry agreements
SANA'A, Feb. 13 (Saba) - Yemen and Turkey reviewed here on Sunday the executive mechanisms to carry out the joint agreements in trade and industry fields signed during the Turkish President Abdullah Gul's visit to Yemen in January.
This comes in a meeting gathered Minister of Trade and Industry Hesham Sharaf and ambassador of Turkey to Yemen Mohammed Donamaz.
They touched on the role of the Yemeni-Turkish Businessmen Council founded during Gul's visit in strengthening trade, economic and investment mutual relations via enlarging the Turkish investments in Yemen and raising trade exchange rates between the two countries.
The means to develop Yemeni industrial zones was discussed during the meeting and availing from the Turkish experiences in this regard and encourage Turkish capitals to invest in.
The meeting discussed fulfilling the tripartite agreement's minute signed recently between the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) and the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector. The agreement aims to develop the industrial zone in Hodeidah province as a prelude to more cooperation between the two countries in the industrial zone area.
During the meeting, Sharaf affirmed Yemen's keenness to deliver industrial zones to Turkish investors to run, develop and invest in pursuance to the President Ali Abdullah Saleh's directives.
He called on Turkish businessmen to benefit from the merits and investment opportunities in Yemen, confirming they will enjoy all care and support from the government.
For his part, Donamaz pointed to the establishment of Tihama Company for Industrial Zone Development in Hodeidah with contributions from Yemeni businessmen, expressing the Turkish businessmen's intent to invest and make investment partnerships in the industrial zones.
