Kazakh party Azat nominates candidate for presidential elections
ASTANA (Itar-Tass) -- The Nationwide Social-Democratic
Party Azat with the membership of 200,000 people has nominated the
candidature of co-chairman of the party Bulat Abilov for the participation
in the early presidential elections scheduled to be held in Kazakhstan on
April 3.
The candidature of Abilov was unanimously supported at the eighth
congress of the party which is underway in Almaty.
The party plans to register its candidate at the Central Electoral
Commission on Saturday.
The process of nominating candidates will last in Kazakhstan till
February 20. The Central Electoral Commission will begin to register them
after the candidates provide all necessary documents and finish the
registration on March 2. The electoral campaign will begin on March 3 and
end on April 1.
