Turkey's automobile market grows 137 percent
ISTANBUL, Feb. 11 (A.A) - Turkey's automobile market grew 137 percent in January, 2011 when compared to January, 2010.
It rose from 12,594 to 29,868, according to Automotive Industry Association.
Total automotive market also rose 125 percent from 21,050 to 47,343 in January 2011 when compared to January 2010.
Sales in light commercial vehicles rose 99 percent to 15,000 in January 2011. Truck market also rose 201 percent to 2,342, while bus market increased 265 percent to 84,000.
Total production rose 19 percent to 90,974 in January 2011. Automobile production in the same period rose nine percent to 50,873.
Total vehicle export rose five percent to 63,000 in January 2011 when compared to January 2010.
