Japan welcomes world sport competitions in Russia

MOSCOW, February 11 (Itar-Tass) -- Japan welcomes Russia will host the Summer Universiade in 2013, the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014 and the FIFA World Cup in 2018, Japanese Foreign Minister Seiji Maehara told a press conference after the negotiations with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov here on Friday.
He noted that Tokyo is ready to give all the assistance to prepare and hold these major sport competitions.
