Russia, Japan ready to realize bilateral cooperation potential.
MOSCOW, February 11 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia and Japan intend to realize the bilateral cooperation potential in practical ties, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told a press conference after the negotiations with his Japanese counterpart Seiji Maehara here on Friday.
"My counterpart and I intend to fulfill the agreements, which the
Russian president and the Japanese prime minister reached, and intend to
realize the full potential of bilateral cooperation, and the most important thing is to translate this potential in the practical dialogue," the Russian minister pointed out.
"We have common interests and proper real capabilities to build up a
solid economic basis of our relations," Lavrov remarked.
"The business quarters in both countries are really interested in
developing joint projects in the sphere of modernization and innovations
and have already reached an agreement to create additional instruments
that will ensure public-private partnership between Japan and Russia in
economic and innovative cooperation," the Russian foreign minister
underlined.
