Mubarak delegates powers to deputy, remains in office
CAIRO (Itar-Tass) -- Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak
said on Thursday in an address to the nation he is transferring powers to Vice President Omar Suleiman, but will stay in office until the next presidential election in September.
He said he would transfer power according to the constitution to prove that the demands of protesters will be met by dialogue.
However the address failed to satisfy protesters who demand his
immediately resignation.
In his comment opposition leader Mohamed ElBaradei said "Egypt will explode. Army must save the country now."
