Turkey's flag carrier airlines participating in international tourism fair
ISTANBUL (A.A) Feb 10 - Turkey's national air carrier, the Turkish Airlines (THY), is participating in the 15th East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition or EMITT, held in Istanbul, the company said in a press statement on Thursday.
THY, the main sponsor of the exhibition, is represented at three pavilions in EMITT 2011, an event which is considered as one the biggest tourism fairs in the world.
The international fair hosts over four thousand participants from sixty countries around the globe.
Based in Istanbul, THY is one of the fastest growing airlines in the world. The airlines is a Star Alliance member, and it carries approximately 25 million passengers a year.
The company posted 389 million Euro of profit in 2009, becoming one of the top companies, following Air China and Ryan Air, in the world that recorded the highest profit in 2009.
