Japanese minister to talk trade in Sydney

(AAP) - Japan's trade minister will visit Australia over the next two days to continue negotiations regarding a free trade agreement between the two countries.
Australian Trade Minister Craig Emerson said the visit by Banri Kaieda reinforced the priority Japan placed on advancing trade negotiations.
"Australia and Japan have resumed free trade agreement negotiations this week in Tokyo," Dr Emerson said in a statement.
"The proposed trade agreement will be the main focus of my discussions with Minister Kaieda on Friday."
The pair will conduct the second Australia-Japan trade and economic ministerial dialogue in Sydney.
Japan is Australia's second-largest trading partner and export market and third-largest source of foreign investment.
