Turkey produces 780,718 tons of red meat in 2010, TurkStat says
ANKARA (A.A) Feb 10 - Turkey's statistics authority, TurkStat, announced on Thursday that Turkey had produced 780,718 tons of red meat in 2010.
TurkStat has made public the "Red Meat Production Statistics" for December 2010.
The data provided by the authority has revealed that red meat production in Turkey amounted to 53,847 tons in December 2010 while production in January-December period reached 780,718 tons.
Figures in December reflected a 66.7 percent decline compared to November, the month Turkey celebrated the Feast of Sacrifice, TurkStat said.
Cattle meat production in December amounted to 44,818 tons while cow meat production equalled to 318 tons, sheep meat production reached 7,259 tons and goat meat production was around 1,452 tons, the authority added.
