Russia to ship two types of helicopters to civil operators in India
MOSCOW, February 9 (Itar-Tass) - Russia's helicopter-making holding
Russian Helicopters, which is part of the United Industrial Corporation Oboronprom, will deliver to India two types of civil helicopters Mil-172 and Kamov 32A11VS, the holding's press service told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
According to the press service, "the Mi-172 helicopter has already
been certified in India, and multipurpose helicopter Ka-32A11VS, certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency in 2009, was authorized for operation in India last December."
Last year Indian civil users of helicopters concluded contracts for the purchace of four Mi-172 copters and one Ka-32A11VS. The multipurpose helicopter Ka-32A11VS is a new-comer to the Indian helicopter market. The aircraft is to be purchased by Global Vectra Helicorp company for the civil sector of the economy.
The Russian Helicopters holding company is the only official supplier of Russian civil helicopters to India. Military helicopters are provided to India by the Russian arms export agency Rosoboronexport.
Ka-226T, Mi-26T2 and Mi-28NE helicopters take part in India's bidding contests.
