North Korea's leading Rodong Sinmun condemns Seoul bid to discuss uranium enrichment at UN.

PYONGYANG (Itar-Tass) - North Korea denounced on Wednesday
Seoul's intentions to bring up the issue of North Korea's uranium
enrichment at the U.N. Security Council.
These moves "will lead to an escalation of tension in relations
between the North and the South," North Korea's leading Rodong Sinmun
newspaper wrote in its article.
The newspaper stressed that North Korea's uranium enrichment program
has "solely peaceful purposes". That is why, attempts of the South Korean
authorities "together with outside forces" to bring this program before
the U.N. Security Council "must be considered as attempts to block the
process of denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula," it said.
At the present moment "the whole Korean nation hopes that tensions in
relations between the North and the South will be eased through a peaceful
dialogue and negotiations".
That is why, the South Korean authorities must "abandon moves that
contribute to confrontation between the two parts of the Korean
peninsula," the newspaper emphasized.
