Nijeifi confirms Iraqi interest in Egyptian unity

Baghdad (NINA) – The Speaker Usama al-Nijeifi confirmed “The Iraqi interest in the unity of the Egyptian people and land and expressed Iraq’s desire to settle the Egyptian affairs internally without foreign interferences.”

A statement by Nijeifi’s office quoted Nijeifi as saying during his meeting with the Egyptian Ambassador Sharif Shaheen Tuesday “The Egyptian People enjoys a long and honorable history which will enable it to overcome the current crisis.”

For his part, the Egyptian Ambassador Shaheen assured for Nijeifi that “The situation in Egypt became stable an heading towards the right destination,” stressing that “The dialogue started by the Egyptian Vice-President Omar Sulaiman with the resistance entities reached valuable stage.”
