Number of Russian tourists at Egypt sea resorts halves.

MOSCOW (Itar-Tass) - The number of Russian tourists in
Hurghada and Sharm-el-Sheikh has almost halved against Saturday, February
5, the chief press officer of the Federal Tourism Agency Oleg Moseyev told
Itar-Tass on Sunday.
"According to our preliminary reports, which are being checked and
specified, the number of Russian tourists has almost halved at Egyptian
sea resorts against yesterday, when their number has made about 20,000,"
he said. "On Monday the Federal Tourism Agency will post an exact report
on the number of Russian tourists, which were airlifted to the homeland
last weekend," he noted.
"The airliners from Egypt are full to capacity," the chief press
officer reported. He expressed hope that "all Russian tourists will return
home before the end of next week." "Officials from the Federal Tourism
Agency and the Foreign Ministry help Russian tourists to return to the
homeland and explain that it is inexpedient to stay at Egyptian sea
resorts," Moseyev recalled.
Russian officials warn those who do not intend to leave the Egyptian
sea resorts ahead of time that the improper services are provided to them
due to economic aftermath after the riots in Egypt, Moseyev pointed out.
"Some tour operators do not have the fuel for transfers and some hotels
have food quality problems," he elaborated, adding that "mothers, who went
on vacations with little children, complain about the food."
"About 30% of Russian tourists have already flied back to the
homeland," executive director of the Association of Russian Tour Operators
Maya Lomidze said earlier. This percentage "will keep growing from the
beginning of next week," she underlined.
