Hockey Pakistan beat Canada 3-1 in Olympic tournament
Beijing, Aug 13 PPI: Pakistan field hockey team which lost Olympic Games tournament's opening match against Great Britain on Wednesday beat Canada 3.-1.
Canadia couldn't preserve a slim lead in second half, falling 3-1 to Pakistan. It was second straight loss for Canada in Group B preliminary play at Olympic GreenHockey Stadium. The team lost 6-1 to 2004 Olympic champions Australia on Monday.
After Canada and Pakistan appeared destined to enter halftime deadlocked in a scoreless draw in Wednesday's match, Canada scored on a penalty corner from BindiKullar to take 1-0 lead.
But Pakistan responded with a pair of goals in the 39th minute to storm back.
Muhammad Imran levelled the score on a penalty corner before Shafqat Rasool scoredsix seconds later on a field goal to put Pakistan ahead.
Muhammad Waqas gave Pakistan a two-goal advantage with a field goal in the 57th minute.
