Mi-2 helicopter crashes in Kalmykia, two die
ROSTOV-ON-DON, February 6 (Itar-Tass) -- A Mi-2 helicopter crashed
during take off in Kalmykia on Saturday.
The helicopter belongs to the Rostov Region's branch of Russia's
Defence Sports-Technical Organisation /ROSTO/.
The incident happened at 22:00 Moscow time. The pilot and the
mechanics are dead, a source at ROSTO said. The source did not explain the
purpose of the late flight. As a rule, helicopters do not operate at night.
Neither is there information on reasons of the crash. An investigation
is going on
