Norway's parliament sets date to ratify Arctic borders with Russia.
OSLO, February 5 (Itar-Tass) -- Norway's parliament will discuss
ratification of the agreement with Russia on the sea borders in the
Barents Sea and the Arctic Ocean on February 8.
Over the parliament's voting the country's Foreign Minister is
expected to be present. The foreign relations and defence committee of
Norway's storting /parliament/ has approved the document already.
Over the state visit of Russia's President Dmitry Medvedev in April,
2010, the two countries confirmed they had reached consensus following 40
years' negotiations. Foreign Ministers of Russia and Norway Sergei Lavrov
and Gahr Store inked the document in Murmansk on September 15.
The new border line of 1,680 kilometres will divide in halves the
disputable sector of 175.2 thousand kilometres.
