FISU Chairman Killian says Turkey hosted one of the best Winter Universiades so far

ERZURUM (A.A) Feb. 5 - President of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) George Killian said Turkey hosted one of the best Winter Universiade organizations so far.
Evaluating the 25th Winter Universiade at a press conference in Erzurum, the Turkish province which hosted the winter games, said Turkey did a good job and hosted the Winter Universiade with the largest participation in the history of the games.
He said 593 athletes from 52 countries competed at the winter games in Erzurum which was followed by 844 officials and 1639 spectators.
"Turkey could not win many medals in the games, but you will start winning many medals in 10 to 12 years. Winter sports is a very competitive field," said Killian.
Killian who particularly praised the winter games village, where athletes stayed during the competition, said the food served in the village was also very good.
FISU President who underlined that accommodation and food in organization of sports events was very important, went on to say, "a place where you can have a good sleep and eat good food, if you can get these two right, you are on the right path. If you can combine these achievements with other aspects, you will achieve success. We have managed this in Erzurum."
