Iranian Revolution a great historic event: Pakistani Editor

Islamabad, Feb 5, IRNA -- Editor of a Pakistani newspaper said Friday Iranian Islamic Revolution is a great event in history and had a transforming impact on whole Iranian society.
Talking to IRNA Saleem Bukhari editor of English daily ‘The Nation’ said that the Iranian Revolution is the largest revolution of the 20th Century.
Expressing views with a reference to the 32nd anniversary of the Revolution the journalist said that the Revolution came in Iran as a reaction to the policies of the US-backed Pahlavi Regime.
He was of the opinion that one has to go to Iran to view the fruits of the Revolution. “I myself have visited Iran for so many times and have witnessed the positive impacts of the Revolution”, he said.
Bukhari added that the Revolution has made Iran much stronger and self sufficient. “They are not dependent on other countries for their needs”, said the journalist.
He noted that despite the strong opposition, Iran is progressing in every filed. “They are now entering the satellite age and about to become a nuclear power”, said the editor.
The analyst said that the protection of basic human rights is the responsibility of the government the and Iranian nation is very fortunate in this regards. “People like us can only wish for such a strong revolution in their countries”, said the journalist.
Saleem Bukhari also said that Iran has always stood up for the causes of the Muslim Ummah.
He said that the leaders of the other Muslim countries should follow the example of the Iranian leadership in running the affairs of their countries. “Look at the simplicity in the life styles of the Iranian leaders”, said the senior journalist.
Saleem was confident that every conspiracy against the Iranian Revolution would fail as the Iranian nation is united and cannot be lured by cheap tricks.
Without naming countries Saleem Bukhari asked some Muslim states not to engage in petty disputes with Iran and develop strong brotherly ties with the Islamic Republic.
Millions of Iranians across the country have opened celebrations, marking the 32nd anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
The ceremonies kicked off all over the country on Tuesday morning at 9:33 a.m. local time, the time when the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (P), returned to the Iranian capital, Tehran, on February 1, 1979 from a 14-year exile in Paris.
The day of Imam Khomeini's return to Iran marks the start of the 10-days 'Fajr' celebrations, which culminate on February 11 -- the anniversary of the victory of the glorious Islamic Revolution./end
