Talabani: Iraq needs its brothers’ support to consolidate its state

Baghdad (NINA) – President Jalal Talabani said that Iraq seeks to consolidate its state and institutions; it is in need of the support of its brothers and friends to enable it keep moving forward.



During receiving on Thursday, Feb. 3, the United Arab Emirates’ Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayid al-Nahyan, and the delegation accompanying him, President Talabani said, “Such meetings between brothers consolidate chances for understanding that serves mutual relations.”



A statement issued by the President’s Office said, “Talabani accepted an invitation extended to him by the UAE’s Minister on behalf of the UAE Leader, Khalifa Bin Zayid al-Nahyan, to visit the United Arab Emirates.



For his part, the UAE official said that three years ago had visited Baghdad and he is happy now to see how much the picture has changed; now we look positively to Iraq.
