West's sanctions will have no impact on FM activities

Tehran, Feb 1, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said here on Tuesday that the West’s sanctions against Iran would have no impacts on the activities of Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi.
Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing, he reiterated that the illegal and unilateral sanctions imposed by certain countries including the US and the EU member states against the Iranian nation and some Iranian officials are wrong and futile.
Stressing that such pressures have no legal and logical bases, he urged the other side to refrain from creating obstacles in the way of the Iranians achieving their objectives.
Mehmanparast called on the West to have closer cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
On Iran-Group 5+1 talks, he said the doors are open but efforts should be made to reach common points.
He further voiced Tehran’s readiness to continue negotiations with representatives of the Group 5+1.
