Turkish EU Minister Bagis will attend Holocaust remembrance ceremony
AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU/KRAKOW (A.A) - Turkey's State Minister for European Union talks Egemen Bagis was set to attend a Holocaust commemoration ceremony to be held at the WWII concentration camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau in Krakow.
Bagis arrived at Krakow Airport on Tuesday and he was greeted by Turkey's Ambassador in Warsaw, Resit Ulman.
The ceremony is being held by UNESCO, gathering politicians and scholars from European Union countries.
Head of the Turkish parliament's EU committee, Yasar Yakis as well as Mevlut Cavusoglu, president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, will also take part in the ceremony.
Cavusoglu is set to deliver a speech at the ceremony.
Bagis is expected to depart from Poland in the evening.
