Egyptian Army confirms legitimacy of people’s demands

Beirut, Feb 1, IRNA – Egyptian Army issued a communiqué in Cairo Monday evening, emphasizing country’s armed forces would not use warm weapons against people, adding army recognizes legitimacy of their demands.
According to the IRNA correspondent in Beirut, the highly controversial Egyptian Army Communiqué which was immediately quoted by various dispatches was distributed among the public before their pre-planned Tuesday massive demonstration that is expected to be millions strong.

The demonstrators have announced they will not leave the Cairo streets despite the announced curfew till hearing the news on the resignations of authoritarian President Hosni Mubarak.

Political commentators have interpreted the Egyptian Army Communiqué as the armed forces’ will for the continuation of the demonstrations, on condition that they would remain peaceful
