Analyst: West wants Egypt's revolution for own benefit

London, Jan 31, IRNA – A British writer and political analyst said on Sunday that the US and western countries are looking for stealing the revolution of Egyptians and confiscating it for their own benefit.
'In the opinion of the Americans and Zionists, making Hosni Mubarak a scapegoat now might help control the situation in Egypt and they will be able to pursue their policies in another way in that country,' Yassin Ghassab told IRNA in an exclusive interview in London.
He noted that Mubarak has actually victimized his son, Gamal by appointing a former top security official as his deputy.
'Mubarak wants to stick to his post until the end,' Yassin Ghassab added.
He pointed out that the recent stances of the US President Barack Obama and some other western officials regarding Egypt show that the US and the West consider unarmed Egyptian people who are fighting for their freedom equal to oppressing regime of Hosni Mubarak.
'President Hosni Munbarak has had the opportunity to talk with people over past 30 years, but he chose to communicate with people by torturing and suppressing them. The Egyptians are fully aware of this fact,' Yassin Ghassab added.
Yassin Ghassab has conducted researches on the situations of the Middle East and North African countries./
