Man charged over Qld fatal hit and run

A 31-year-old NSW man has been charged after a woman was knocked down and killed in southeast Queensland.
The 41-year-old woman was hit by a truck on the corner of Rebecca and Leah streets at Burpengary, north of Brisbane, around 10.50pm (AEST) on Saturday.
The Burpengary woman died at the scene.
The man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death while adversely affected, drink driving and failure to remain at the scene.
He is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrate's court on Monday.
Meanwhile, police say they are investigating another fatal hit and run - in north Queensland.
Officers patrolling along Robert Road at Bentley Park, south of Cairns, discovered the man's body on the road around 12.30am (AEST) on Sunday.
Cairns Forensic Crash Unit are treating it as a hit and run and are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au.
