Caretaker FM: Iran, Afghanistan keen on expansion of ties
Tehran, Jan 29, IRNA -- Caretaker of Foreign Ministry Ali Akbar Salehi said on Saturday that no barrier exists in the way of expansion of economic cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan.
Salehi made the remark in a meeting with Afghan Minister of Economy Zakhil Val in Tehran.
He pointed out that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to remove the problems concerning Tehran-Kabul economic cooperation.
'Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to expand ties with Afghanistan in areas such as joint venture, banking and others commercial issues,' Salehi added.
He noted that Iran and Afghanistan have many commonalities in religious, cultural and lingual areas.
Afghan Economy Minister Zakhil Val, for his part, thanked Iran for its cooperation in reconstruction of Afghanistan.
