Majlis gives vote of confidence to Salehi
Tehran, Jan 30, IRNA – Iranian parliament on Sunday voted in favor of Ali-Akbar Salehi as the country’s new foreign minister.
243 members were present in the Sunday morning session of parliament.
The parliamentarians cast 146 votes in Salehi’s favor while 60 rejected him and 35 abstained.
Prior to the voting, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad addressed the parliament’s open session and outlined the characteristics of Salehi as his proposed foreign minister.
