Spy or working for Blackwater?

Islamabad, Jan 29, IRNA -- Pakistani media have reported that an American official, who shot dead two Pakistani citizens in the city of Lahore on Thursday, is a spy or working for Blackwater.
The American employee, Raymond Davis, at the US consulate in Lahore, shot dead two Pakistani motorcyclists, city police chief Aslam Tarin says.
A pedestrian was also killed by a speeding car from the US consulate, which was called to help, police say.
Davis had introduced himself as Technical Advisor to the police but major Pakistani dailies reported on Friday that he was a soldier, spy and possibly member of the infamous Blackwater.
Davis, who is now charged in murder case, told the police investigators that he fired in self-defence as the two motorcyclists had wanted to rob him.
The largely circulated Urdu language Daily Jang reported that the police suspected Davis as American spy.
It reported that he is not a diplomat and can not claim diplomatic immunity.
Daily The News International also quoted the police as saying, “US killer is a spy”.
Daily The Nation reported on front page that Blackwater role suspected in the shooting of the two Pakistanis.
Daily Express quoted Law Minister of Punjab Province, Rana Sanaullah, as saying, “It seems that the American national was on a secret mission as what he was doing in the busiest Mazang area of Lahore city.”
Police sources said that the American killer will be produced in a court on Friday. Security measures have been taken outside a Lahore court.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik told the National Assembly that the American killer will face legal action, adding that no foreigner is entitled to carry weapons.
The US State Department has said the US will extend all help to the Pakistani authorities in investigation into the matter.
On Thursday, a group of people gathered shortly after the incident and blocked the road after the incident by setting tyres on fire to protest against the killing.
