Turkey's tourism revenues will be up in 2011
ANTALYA (A.A) - Both the number of tourists visiting Turkey and Turkey's tourism revenues will be up in 2011, the head of a vocational federation said on Thursday.
Ahmet Barut, chairman of Turkish Hoteliers' Federation (TUROFED), said that 2011 would be a good year for Turkey's tourism industry.
"We forecast at least 5 percent rise in the number of tourists visiting Turkey in 2011," Barut told AA correspondent.
Barut expressed his expectation that the number of tourists visiting Turkey would be up to 31 million, and the tourism revenues would rise to 25 billion USD in 2011.
Turkey's share in Britain and Iran would rise in 2011, Barut also said.
According to the World Tourism Organization, the number of tourists will be up 4 percent and tourism expenditures will be up 5 percent in the world in 2011.
