Yemeni President commends role of Saudi Cardiac Surgery Team
Sana’a , August 13 , SPA -- Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has
expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the currently visiting
Saudi Cardiac Surgery team and said their noble gesture and efforts
embody the deep-rooted relations between the two countries.
The Yemeni President made these remarks during a reception today of
the 40-member Pediatric Cardiology team led by Dr. Huwaida Quthami.
The Medical team briefed the Yemeni President on the nature of the
operations carried out in the Cardiology Centre at Athawrah General
Hospital. The Number of operation carried out until today reached 185
surgeries, including 104 open heart operations and 81 catheter
surgeries for children.
The members of the medical team expressed their happiness
over the Saudi contribution to alleviating the suffering caused by
heart disease among some sick children.
They said this is the second visit of the team to Yemen, adding that
the team includes a number of specialist surgeons and anesthetists.
