BEIJING, January 18 (Itar-Tass) -- Member of the Chinese State Council
Dai Binguo will visit Russia on January 23-25 to attend the fifth round of
Russian-Chinese consultations on issues of security, spokesman for the
Chinese Foreign Ministry Hong Lei told a briefing here on Tuesday.
As the diplomat said, the visit of the Chinese high official to Russia
will be held at the invitation of Secretary of the Russia Security Council
Nikolai Patrushev. According to Hong Lei, during the forthcoming
consultations, the sides will exchange opinions on "important
international and regional problems, as well as on issues of further
advance of relations of strategic partnership and interaction between the
countries."
The ministry's spokesman noted that the mechanism of Chinese-Russian
consultations on issues of security is an important channel for discussing
a wide range of problems of mutual interest.
