Iran’s invitation for inspection of nuclear sites, encouraging sign

New Delhi, Jan 18, IRNA – Head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano termed Iran’s invitation for inspection of its nuclear facilities as an encouraging sign.
Ambassadors of five countries to the IAEA representing 120 world countries arrived in Iran Saturday morning to inspect the Natanz and Arak nuclear facilities in central Iran.
The five represented members of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), those of the Group 77 and the Arab League at the IAEA.
Iran has also renewed its invitation for inspectors from Russia, China and the European Union to visit its nuclear facilities.
Yukiya Amano, who is currently in India, made the remarks while commenting on Iran's invitation to a number of countries to inspect its nuclear facilities.
'I have no particular comment but it is an encouraging sign. I hope to hear some positive outcome from their dialogue,' said the IAEA chief.
He inaugurated the 21st Annual Conference of the Indian Nuclear society on 'Impact of Radiation Technology on Human health and Environment,' in Mumbai, on Monday, pti reported./end
