Royal Thai Armed Forces to maintain national security

BANGKOK, Jan 18 (TNA) - The Royal Thai Armed Forces has reiterated its stance on maintaining Thailand’s sovereignty and security.

Supreme Commander of the Royal Thai Armed Forces General Songkitti Jaggabatara echoed the Thai military's firm position when he presided over a ceremony in Bangkok this morning to mark the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day, which falls on January 18, with the presence of Thailand's army, navy, air force and national police chiefs.

The Thai supreme commander acknowledged that the Thai military has, so far, fully performed its duties on upholding the national sovereignty and the Thai monarchy and has protected the Thai public.

Thailand has observed the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day in remembrance of the late Thai King Naresuan the Great and past warriors--whose brave contributions had upheld Thailand’s sovereignty.

Thai armed forces' officers were also set to attend an annual oath-taking ceremony this afternoon--as part of their observance of the Thai Armed Forces Day. (TNA)
