IRNA bureau chiefs meet with President Ahmadinejad

Tehran, Jan 18, IRNA – Heads of representative offices of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) met with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Tuesday morning.

During the meeting, President Ahmadinejad was briefed on IRNA's activities and performance, both domestically and abroad.

President Ahmadinejad described IRNA staff as committed, enthusiastic, intellectual and hard-working people who had a clear view of the events, adding that IRNA had to offer a model of healthy, sincere and ideal journalism paradigm to other media and press.

Pointing out that the world was the arena of war between two major approaches and ideals, he further said that IRNA reporters were at the frontline of confrontation with enemies.

The meeting took place at the closing day of the a three-day gathering in Tehran.

Heads of IRNA offices both in Iran and outside the country participated in the gathering which aimed at exploring ways to further enhance performance of IRNA offices in different parts of the country as well as the world./end
