ANNIVERSARY OF FIRST SPACE MISSION TO BE MARKED
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A governmental commission's meeting has run in the Defense Ministry to discuss thorough a plan of actions to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first flight of the Mongolian to outer space.
A of the commission has pointed out that during a recent visit of Mongolia's Premier to the Russian Federation the sides had reached an agreement to co-celebrate this anniversary, and that the Russian side had positively accepted a proposal of Mongolia to organize a joint--with Mongolian astronaut--space mission. Then, the commission have considered as right to widely mark the anniversary based on the bilateral friendly relations.
Some 30 years ago, the first astronaut of Mongolia started his training in a "Zvezdny" town near Moscow, and then flew to the space on "Soyuz-39" spacecraft in March 22, 1981 with the Russian Vladimir Dzhanibekov.
J.Gurragchaa is the very first astronaut of Mongolia and the 101st astronaut in the world.
