Eight injured in train crash in Thai Phatthalung Province

BANGKOK, Jan 15 (TNA) - Eight people were injured in a train crash in Thailand's southern Phattalung Province, including three passengers and five railway officials.
Train officials reported on Saturday (Jan 15) that the incident took place last night when a cargo train crashed into a passenger train parked at a station in Phattalung, hurling a carriage to hit another passenger train and causing the engine of the cargo train to break down.
Phatthalung station chief Wijit Jitranon said that seven of the eight injured suffered minor injuries and were later discharged from hospital after treatment; while the other suffered a head injury and needed to undergo a surgery. (TNA)
