IRNA chief stresses presence of media in national discussions

Tehran, Jan 15, IRNA – Presidential advisor for press affairs Ali-Akbar Javanfekr here on Saturday underlined the need for presence of media representatives in discussions on national interests.
Javanfekr, who is also Managing Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) made the remark while addressing the first expert meeting on “role of media in promoting interaction with Iranians living abroad” which started in Tehran this morning.
He added that such gatherings would be more fruitful with the presence of media.
The one-day meeting is held with participation of a number of experts focusing on ways media and press are contributing to enhancing interactions with Iranians who are living in foreign countries.
It further provides a chance to attract cooperation of media and press experts to establish sustained and dynamic relations with Iranians living abroad.
Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini and head of presidential office Esfandair Rahim-Mashaie are participating in the meeting./end
