Masha'ie stresses need for strengthening Iran-Albania ties

Belgrade, Jan 15, IRNA – Head of the President's Office Esfandiar Rahim Mashaie emphasized in Tirana Friday that friendly ties between Iran and Albania must be strengthened.
According to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tirana, speaking at Tirana International Relations Institute, Mashaie added that 'Iran based on its deep belief, including justice seeking, friendship, and respect for the others, has always pursued having constructive interactions with the entire world countries, samples of which can be seen in friendly relations with the neighboring and other countries around the globe.'
Referring to the long record of Iran-Albania relations, Mashaie added, that Tehran considers no limits in expansion of ties with Albania under the current conditions, and the Iranian government is ready for cooperation particularly in oil, infrastructures, modern technologies, and entire other possible economic fields with Albania.'
Elsewhere in his talks, Mashaie elaborated on Iran's Balkans policy, saying that 'the presence of various tribes, races and religions on the one hand and cultural, economic and natural diversity on the other hand have turned the Balkans region into one of unique regions of the world.'
Mashaie meanwhile reiterated, 'From the viewpoint of Iran the stability of Balkans plays an important role in the sustainable stability of the world and that is the reason why despite the remote geographical distance, Iran played an important role in crisis solving during the 90's Balkans crisis.'
Although the Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast had in his this week press conference in response to a reporter's question stressed that Mashaie's visit of Albania is not diplomatic, Mashaie replied to the questions of the audience at the session on important regional and international developments./end
