US carrier`s call at Pusan conducive to tension KCNA

PYONGYANG, January 13 (Itar-Tass) - The arrival of the US aircraft
carrier Carl Vinson at the South Korean port of Pusan on January 11, in
the estimate of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), "runs
counter to the mutual desire of the Koreans to settle the crisis that has
arisen in relations between the North and the South through dialogue and
negotiations", the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said in a report on
Thursday.
The report also points out that such actions "are indicative of an
intention by the United States to bring about a heightened tension in the
region".
The 93,000-tonne American aircraft carrier called at Pusan, west of
which the Operational Command of the Navy of the Republic of Korea (ROK)
is located in the area of Chinhae.
According to a statement issued by the American Troops' Command in the
ROK, the four-day stay of the aircraft carrier there is part of regular
visits by the allies' naval ships.
