MONGOLIA TO TRANSFER REMAINS OF DELTA-II ROCKET

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ On Wednesday, the cabinet meeting made a decision to transfer remains of the Delta II rocket to the U.S side. The decision has been made in respect of the Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies; the Agreement on the Rescue of Astronauts, the Return of Astronauts and the Return of Objects Launched into Outer Space; and the Convention on International Liability for Damage Caused by Space Objects.
A liquid fuel tank and a container of helium gas of the rocket crashed February of 2010 on territory of Buren soum, Tov aimag. It was inspected that the objects had been remains of the Delta II rocket launched September 25 in 2009 from the Cape Canaveral's station in Florida, the United States.
