WEATHER MAY GET WORSE IN SOME AREAS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Problems may arise in pasturing the livestock, for snow and strong winds are forming snowdrifts and hard layer on the ground in most of the regions.
For the time being, a 25-30 sm snow has been covering steppes and one-meter snow in hollow places in several soums of Khovsgol aimag, 192 heads of livestock have perished in Renchinlkhumbe and Ulaan-Uul soums.
The Toom mountain pass in Ulaan-Uul soum is closed due to snowstorm, other passes are covered with 30-70 sm thick snow. The province-based Emergency management authority say urgent actions are being taken, for example, 11 rescuers and two heavy technical devices have cleared 25 km of two mountain passes in Tunel and Arbulag soums.
