Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Gobi-Altai province had 70.5 per cent of heads of livestock survived and entered the new year in fine fettle, and by the end of 2010 received 104.6 thousand heads of baby livestock.
This is the lowest figure shown in history of the aimag. Main reasons of such a loss are drought, extremely cold weather and natural disasters of summer and winter.
The total number of livestock has declined by 856.3 thousand, of them, number of camels has decreased by 2.5 thousand, horses--by 27.2 thousand, cows--by 18.0 thousand, sheep--by 297.9 thousand, and goats--by 510.7 thousand. Only increase was observed in Tseel and Togrog soums.

According statistics by end of 2010, 1,303 children were born in the aimag. Child mortality under one year stood 27 cases, whereas the child mortality aged 1-5--eight cases.
One tousand twenty mothers gave births on eve of the New Year. A total of 1,030 children were born, including twins. Thius year, 30 mothers gave births.
