DRAFT AMENDMENT SUBMITTED

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Parliamentarians S.Erdene, D.Baldan-Ochir, D.Gankhuyag, E.Monkh-Ochir, Ts.Sedvanchig and D.Terbishdagva presented Tuesday a draft amendment to the law on procedure of parliamentary session, to the Parliament Speaker D.Demberel.
The draft initiators consider that some clauses of the altered law on parliamentary session, for example, the regulation of the relations between parliament and media organizations breaches the basic rights of obtaining information within the Constitution and strangles the right of investigating and receiving information which do not belong to state secret.
The criteria for journalists who are covering parliament news also conflict with the Constitution, they say.
According to the amendment, the news reporters are allowed to attend plenary meetings of parliamentary sessions and other open meetings, a permission to do so is granted according the media organizations' suggestions.
