Young robot engineers champion Thailand at 2011 int’l tech-fest

BANGKOK, Jan 11 (TNA) - Thailand's champion youth team has returned to Bangkok after winning the country first-place at an international robot design festival and paving the way for the Kingdom to become a world leading robotic industry.

The four Thai engineering students from renowned Kasetsart University in Bangkok brought the championship to the nation from India’s Tech-Fest international robot design competition, which ended on January 9, securing their “Cheese Square@Kamphaengsaen” team's success even in their first attempt at the international competition, with their “I-Nexus” robots--a master and a subordinate, working correlatively and automatically under a simulation to collect objects on the Mars.

Meanwhile, Kasetsart University has called for joint efforts with the Thai government and engineering experts to develop Thailand’s robotic industry with technological milestones to gear the nation toward the world's more advance ages in the future. (TNA)
