Turkey-OIC-Bahrain condole Iran on fatal plane crash

Tehran, Jan 11, IRNA – Turkey, the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and Bahrain on Monday condoled Iran on fatal crash of an Iranian passenger plane on Sunday, which killed 70 and injured dozens.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutolu, the Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, and Speaker of Bahraini Parliament Ali Bain Saleh al-Saleh in separate messages expressed sorrow for the tragic incident and wished speedy recovery of the injured.
A total of 70 people were killed as the plane made an emergency landing near Orumiyeh in Azerbaijan province on Sunday.
A Red Crescent official told IRNA that 70 people were killed and only 32 survived the crash.
The number of passengers has been put at between 100 and 105.
The plane had taken off from the capital city Tehran en route to Orumiyeh in northwestern Iran./end
