‘Regional resistance has put enemies in passive position’ : Ahmadinejad
TEHRAN, Jan. 11 (MNA) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that the resistance of the regional nations has put the enemies in a weak and passive position.
Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a meeting with Syrian Parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Abrash in Tehran on Monday.
Today, the regional resistance is quite different from the past decades, Ahmadinejad stated.
“30 years ago, the nations were in a defensive and passive position and the enemies were dominant, but today the conditions have completely changed,” he added.
Ahmadinejad also said the hegemonic powers are seeking to undermine the resistance front of Iran and Syria.
The enemies are stuck in a political impasse and have no strategy to get out of their present conditions, the president observed.
He said, “Today, the enemies are stuck in a quagmire and whatever measure they take brings them more loss because the regional nations have awakened and the resistance front is strongly standing against the enemies’ (illegitimate demands).”
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ahmadinejad highlighted the importance of increased relations between the two countries in all spheres, particularly in the area of economy.
Abrash, for his part, said that the enemies are making efforts to create problems for the Arab and Muslim countries.
“The solidarity and unity of Muslim and Arab states would lead to the enemies’ disappointment,” he added.
The Syrian parliament speaker also said, “Syria is trying its best to increase the level of economic relations with Iran along with political relations.”
