Turkey's Gul in Yemen

SANA'A, Jan. 10 (Saba) - President Abdullah Gul of Turkey arrived Monday on an official visit to Yemen at the invitation of President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Official reception ceremony in honor of President Gul was held in Sana'a Republican
Palace, where the Yemen's great guest was received by President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
Gul, the first ever Turkish President visits Yemen, is accompanied by a high-ranked
delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc, Foreign Minister Ahmet
Davutoglu,
Defence Minister Vecdi Gonul, Health Minister Recep Akdag, lawmakers and
businesspeople.
A Yemeni-Turkish summit co-chaired by President Saleh and President Gul will be
held to discuss economic links and attracting Turkish investments into Yemen,
particularly
in areas such as gas, oil and energy as well as promoting the relations between
businessmen in both countries.
The summit will also raise issues of mutual interests, topped by the peace process
in the region in the light of the good Turkish-EU relations, in addition to the
fight
against terrorism, maritime piracy and the issues of developing the Organization of
the Islamic Conference.
