Thailand seeking China's nod for longer stay of "Lin Ping"

BANGKOK, Jan 10 (TNA) - Thai authorities are seeking an approval from Beijing for a longer stay in Thailand for "Lin Ping", a panda cub in the Chiang Mai Zoo who was set to return to China in May 2011.

The Thai authorities started negotiations on the issue with a visiting Chinese delegation on Monday (Jan 10). Thailand hopes that Lin Ping, the most famous resident of the Chiang Mai Zoo, will be allowed to stay in Thailand for another two years.

Since her birth at the northern Thai zoo nearly two years ago, Lin Ping and her parents, Chuang Chuang and Lin Hui, have become superstar attracting a large number of tourists to the Chiang Mai Zoo. (TNA)
