President hails Iran’s progress in medical fields

Tehran, Jan 10, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hailed Iran’s achievements in medical arenas while addressing the closing ceremony of the 16th Razi Research Festival of Medical Sciences Monday morning.

The President expressed happiness over the rapid pace of hygienic and medical developments in the country and said Iran enjoyed the first place in the region in many areas and has a very good status in the world in a number of scientific domains.

He further stressed government’s all-out support for the research and scientific activities conducted by Iranian scientists and researchers.

Founded in 1995, the Razi Festival aims at encouraging the spirit of research and scientific activities among faculty members and researchers working in medical areas.

It is named after the great Iranian scientist Mohammad Zakkaria Razi who was an outstanding physician, chemist and philosopher and lived in the ninth century./end
